All registered medical and veterinary practitioners, scientists and others interested in the objectives of the Society are eligible for election as Fellows. The names of candidates should be submitted on the form provided for the purpose, which must be signed by two Fellows, one of whom must have personal knowledge of the nominee. The form contains a declaration, which must be signed by the candidate, who thereby agrees, if elected, to observe and obey the laws and regulations of the Society, and to endeavour to promote its honour and interests.

After approval by Council, the names of candidates for Fellowship of the Society are published in the agenda of a subsequent meeting, at which Fellows are afforded an opportunity of registering by ballot, disapproval of the candidature if they so desire. One adverse vote in five excludes a candidate.
