Robert Cochrane Fund for Leprosy
The Fund is administered by the Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene in memory of the great leprologist Robert Cochrane. It is to be used to finance up to three travel fellowships per annum, to a maximum value of £1000 each. The fund will support travel for:
- Leprosy workers who need to obtain practical training in field work or in research
- Experienced leprologists to provide practical training in a developing country
- Those working on Mycobacterium tuberculosis in any research context (basic science, clinical epidemiology, public health)
- Those researching any other mycobacterial disease including Buruli ulcer (Mycobacterium ulcerans)
There is no restriction on the country of origin or destination providing that the above requirements are fulfilled. Preference will be given to leprosy projects. If sufficient funds are available, non leprosy projects will also be considered.
