The Program Director is responsible for overseeing all scientific, training, educational, and professional development programs for this non-profit professional organization with 50,000 members in over 100 countries. Principal responsibilities include program development and management, supervision of personnel, and fund raising in conjunction with the Development Director. The Program Director reports to and works with the Executive Director of the Society. The Program Director is responsible for keeping the Executive Committee, Council, membership and the Executive Director informed of all scientific and educational activities undertaken by the Society. This position requires a strong understanding of infectious diseases clinical practice and research, management and communications skills, the ability to work with individuals from diverse background around the world, and solid writing skills. Previous experience working internationally is helpful. Minimum requirements include an MD with training in infectious diseases or a Ph.D. with experience in infectious disease related research. This position is located in Boston, requires a half-time commitment and involves some travel. Compensation is competitive with academic salaries in the area and the position offers the opportunity for advancement.

Full Time, Fixed Term Contract for 2 Years (renewable for up to 2 more years depending on funding)

Salary Scale: Clinical Lecturer Scale (£31,838 to £56,312 per annum)

Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Lecturer in Global Health within the Division of Clinical Medicine at Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS). This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in defining and developing the Global Health programme at BSMS in the context of a new and rapidly-evolving academic environment which has recently been recognised as a Wellcome Trust Centre for Global Health Research. The successful applicant will take on the role of course leader for the MSc in Global Health, help expand the discipline of Global Health within the undergraduate medical curriculum and will be encouraged to develop their personal research portfolio in accordance with their experience. The post-holder will play a key role in fostering collaborative links with other departments at both BSMS parent universities (Brighton and Sussex) and the Institute of Development Studies. The holder will undertake clinical duties in keeping with their training and experience to date. The post sits within the Division of Clinical Medicine and whilst a Public Health or Infectious Diseases background fits with the strengths of the programme, suitably qualified applicants from any relevant clinical background are welcome to apply.
