Dimeji Abdulsobur Olawuy
Dimeji Abdulsobur Olawuyi is a Nigerian medical student, researcher, and emerging leader in global health, currently pursuing his MBBS at the University of Ibadan. He was a Global Model World Health Organization (GMWHO) 2025 Delegate, where he represented Africa in simulated World Health Assembly discussions, contributing to debates and policy drafting on key global health issues including digital health and antimicrobial resistance.
Dimeji has built a strong portfolio in research, contributing to multiple peer-reviewed publications in high-impact journals, with a focus on public health, infectious diseases, and health systems in Africa. He currently works as a Research Assistant with the Cephas Health Research Initiative and serves as an Assistant Editor with the Journal of African Medical Students, where he supports peer review and editorial processes.
His leadership experience spans several roles within the Federation of African Medical Students’ Associations (FAMSA), including Administrator and Headquarters’ Board Advisor, where he has contributed to strategic development and institutional strengthening. Passionate about health equity and capacity building, Dimeji actively engages in community-based initiatives, advocacy programs, and international presentations, with a strong commitment to advancing evidence-based practice and amplifying African voices in global health.
