Dr Adrian Luty

Dr Adrian Luty completed a parasitology-based MSc and PhD at LSHTM, followed by a Post-Doc position studying the immunology of onchocerciasis in Sierra Leone. He subsequently moved to Gabon, starting his 30 year-long pursuit of an understanding of the immunology of P. falciparum malaria in childhood and pregnancy. Over that time, Adrian has held positions at the Universities of Tübingen and Nijmegen. In 2011, he was appointed to a Research Director position at IRD’s MERIT research unit in Paris. In 2021, he returned from 8 years’ secondment in Benin where the DeWorm3 project, for which he is PI, is still on-going.
