Dr Alan Dangour

Alan joined the Wellcome Trust in January 2022 to lead the organisation’s ambitious new Climate & Health Strategy, that seeks to put health at the heart of global climate change actions.

During the previous twenty years, Alan worked at the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine (LSHTM), where he was Professor of Food and Nutrition for Global Health. At LSHTM Alan led an interdisciplinary team working on the interconnections between environmental change, food systems and health. He was also the Director of the Centre on Climate Change and Planetary Health.

Alan has substantial experience working internationally and with government partners – he was a Senior Research Fellow for the UK Department for International Development and an Expert Advisor for the Environmental Audit Office of the UK Parliament.
