Dr Alicia Demirjian

Dr. Alicia Demirjian is a medical epidemiologist who leads the national antimicrobial resistance (AMR) and Prescribing team within the AMR and healthcare-associated infections division at the UK Health Security Agency, where she drives national strategy on AMR and prescribing surveillance.

She also serves as a paediatric infectious diseases consultant at Evelina London Children’s Hospital, Guy’s and St. Thomas’ NHS Foundation Trust. In this role, she previously oversaw the hospital’s Antimicrobial Stewardship and Infection Prevention and Control programmes, strengthening clinical governance and system-wide practice. She also leads nationally as chair of the UK Paediatric Antimicrobial Stewardship (UK-PAS) network.

Dr. Demirjian holds a Dame Sally Davies fellowship in antimicrobial resistance policy with the UK Institute of Development Studies and the Japan National Graduate Institute for Policy Studies, where she advances international policy collaboration. She also contributes to national innovation and evaluation as vice chair of the assessment panel for the NHSE/NICE antimicrobial products subscription model.
