Dr Jagnoor Singh Sandhu
Dr. Jagnoor Singh Sandhu, B.V.Sc. & A.H., M.V.Sc. is a laboratory animal veterinarian and Assistant Professor serving as Veterinarian In-Charge at the Central Animal Research Facility, Kasturba Medical College, Manipal Academy of Higher Education (MAHE), India. With a masters in Veterinary Microbiology, his work centers on laboratory animal science, antimicrobial resistance (AMR), bacteriophage therapy, and translational research within a One Health framework.
His research combines infectious disease diagnostics, molecular techniques, MALDI-TOF–based microbial identification, and biofilm assays with extensive in-vivo expertise in rodent surgical models, cannulation, necropsy, aseptic sampling, and histopathology.
At MAHE, he contributes to strengthening ethical oversight and regulatory compliance in animal research through SOP development, biosafety initiatives, and structured training programs in laboratory animal handling and preclinical methodologies. He has organized national workshops and webinars on experimental design and regulatory frameworks and collaborates on multidisciplinary projects in regenerative medicine, 3D bioprinting, tissue engineering, and AI-driven non-animal methodologies.
Dr. Sandhu is a Co-Principal Investigator on an ICMR-funded project and has authored numerous peer-reviewed publications spanning laboratory animal science, AMR stewardship, bioengineering, and One Health.
