Dr Mobolaji Modinat Salawu
Dr Mobolaji M. Salawu is a Senior Lecturer at the Department of Epidemiology and Medical Statistics, Faculty of Public Health, College of Medicine, University of Ibadan. She is a Public Health Physician and an Epidemiologist with a MD degree and a Master of Public Health Degree in Field Epidemiology. Her research work focuses on infectious and chronic disease epidemiology, sexual and reproductive health, and prevention of violence against women and girls. She is also involved in research related to infectious diseases such malaria, HIV, COVID etc, in Nigeria and other African countries.
She has extensive research experience in conducting both quantitative and qualitative research such as focus group discussions, in depth and key informant interviews. Her academic role includes training and supervision of medical and postgraduate students, and continuing education of health professionals. She has over sixty publications in peer reviewed journals.
Dr Salawu is a Gender equity/GBV fellow at the Johns Hopkins Center for Global Women’s Health and Gender Equity (2025). She has collaborated with researchers locally within the university community and internationally such as the Makarere School of Public Health, Uganda and San Diego State University, USA. She is a recipient of Royal Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (RSTMH) NIHR Grant Awardee 2024.
