Dr Zhaoyu Guo
Dr. Zhaoyu Guo focuses on diseases affecting low- and middle-income countries, with particular interest in the global burden of neglected tropical diseases (NTDs), especially schistosomiasis. He is currently conducting research on schistosomiasis at the University of Oxford. In response to the large number of patients living with chronic schistosomiasis japonica, his research centers on graded diagnosis and treatment strategies. He develops diagnostic models based on ultrasound imaging and machine learning, and investigates the immune microenvironment to better understand disease progression at the microscopic level. He is actively involved in fostering collaborative research between China and the United Kingdom in the field of tropical diseases.
