48th Annual Topics in Infection

Now in its forty-eighth year, Topics in Infection will take place in person on Friday 16 June 2023 at St Bartholomew’s Hospital, London.

This annual one-day meeting, is delivered as a partnership between RSTMH, Barts Health and the UK Health Security Agency. It will bring together microbiologists, infectious disease physicians, infection control personnel and biomedical and clinical scientists to hear updates on recent “hot topics” in all aspects of infectious disease. 

48th Topics in Infection has been approved for 7 CPD credits by the Royal College of Pathologists.

Speakers

We are excited to be joined by Professor Sir Andrew Pollard, who will be presenting on vaccine development. Sir Andrew is Director of the Oxford Vaccine Group at the University of Oxford and an honorary consultant paediatrician (infectious disease and immunology) at Oxford Children’s Hospital. 

We will also be joined by Professor Dame Jenny Harries, who will be presenting on Group A – Strep. Professor Dame Jenny Harries is the first Chief Executive of the UK Health Security Agency - an executive agency of the Department of Health and Social Care established in October 2021.
