Jen Perkins

RSTMH is delighted to host an exclusive Members- and Fellows‑Only Online Event: “Meet the Expert with Jen Perkins.”

Jen Perkins has been managing projects for 30 years. Originally trained as a librarian, one of her most complex projects was as Director of IT and Information Services for the Olympic Park during and after the London 2012 Games. She has worked for the British Library, Foreign and Commonwealth Office, DCMS, Arts Council England, British Red Cross and joined Médecins Sans Frontières in 2014. During this time she set up and managed their first PMO and has delivered multiple projects across MSF, such as the development of a new Health Information System, the implementation of a field-based ERP system, an AMR Learning Programme accredited by BSAC and the Royal College of Pathologists, and the Malaria Anticipation Project. She is currently the Programme Manager of an MSF-wide AI Accelerator initiative, focused on capacity building and rapid prototyping of tools to support MSF’s operational objectives.

From Hype to Prototype – AI Innovation for Humanitarian Impact

Learn how MSF has been identifying AI use cases and developing tools to support its operational priorities. From anticipating malaria outbreaks to identifying snake bites and scanning for TB, MSF is exploring how it can benefit from machine learning, large language models and predictive analysis to support its work, whilst maintaining a strong stance on medical ethics and its humanitarian principles.

Join us for an insightful session where members will have the unique opportunity to hear directly from Jen, explore her expertise, and engage in an interactive discussion.
