International Health: Volume 15, Issue 2, March 2023

01 Mar 2023

International Health is an open-access journal publishing original, peer-reviewed articles and reviews on all aspects of global health. Take a look at the articles featured in the most recent issue, Volume 15, Issue 2.

This month’s Editor’s Choice article is a review by M Fausta Dutuze and colleagues, which describes the status of human and animal viral research in Rwanda. Their work identifies gaps in both virology and research needs, and outlines how infrastructure and resources are needed to bolster Rwandan research as well as Rwandan researchers, in order to establish optimized prevention and control strategies going forward.

This issue also includes two editorial papers regarding polio eradication. The first, by David N Durrheim, discusses eliminating all circulating vaccine-derived poliovirus as a prerequisite to global polio eradication. The second, by Aidan O'Leary, Director of the Global Polio Eradication Initiative, World Health Organization, discusses what the recent detection of Polio in the UK, USA, Ukraine, and Israel, really mean to the global eradication effort.
