Professor Rashida Ferrand is a clinician‑epidemiologist whose work focuses on adolescent health, HIV, sexual and reproductive health, and multimorbidity in low‑resource settings. She has led interventional studies aiming to improve outcomes across the HIV care cascade for adolescents and her research has informed adolescent HIV care and integration of sexual and reproductive health services. She studies HIV-associated non-infectious comorbidities in individuals growing up with perinatally-acquired HIV including cardiorespiratory, neurocognitive, musculoskeletal and skin disease. For the past two decades she has lived and worked in Zimbabwe where she established an interdisciplinary research programme embedded within the Biomedical Research and Training Institute, a local not-for-profit institution. Rashida is Director of the CREATE PhD programme, that trains UK and African health care professionals in global health.
