Professor Roderick Hay

Emeritus Professor of Cutaneous Infection, Kings College London and Dermatology, Queens University Belfast; Consultant Dermatologist at the London Bridge Hospital

Roderick Hay is Emeritus Professor of Cutaneous Infection, Kings College London ( KCL ) and of Dermatology, Queens University Belfast and is currently Consultant Dermatologist at the London Bridge Hospital. His clinical and research interests are Infectious and Tropical Diseases of the skin but particularly fungal infections. He chaired the International Foundation for Dermatology from 2002-2015 and is an adviser to the International League of Dermatology Societies on global inequalities in dermatology. He is a member of the Global Mycetoma Working Group and has worked with WHO on Skin Neglected Tropical Diseases (Skin NTDs). He is a member of the WHO technical advisory committee on Buruli Ulcer and Skin NTDs. He is a Trustee of LEPRA (UK Leprosy NGO) and Chair of their Technical Advisory Committee. For over 30 years he has run a skin infection clinic in London. He is a former Dean of the St Johns Institute of Dermatology, London. From 2002-2007 he was Head of the School of Medicine and Dentistry and, previously, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine and Health Sciences, Queens University Belfast.
