Zahida Azizullah

Zahida Azizullah is a Research Specialist at the Dept of Pathology & Laboratory Medicine, Aga Khan
University Karachi, Pakistan. She holds a BSc (Hons), MSc (Microbiology) from Jinnah University for
Women, and a Masters in Health Policy & Management from Aga Khan University. With an experience
of ten years of research, she has been part of various research studies related to M/XDR-TB, the
prevalence of Arboviruses infection, Bedaquiline drug resistance in Sindh, COVID-19 variant detection
and Rapid diagnostic test kits evaluation studies for typhoid and dengue. Her current work involves
addressing the irrational prescribing of medicines in Pakistan. She has also co-authored several
publications to her name and presented abstracts at international forums recently. Her experience ranges
from laboratory research to public health research which also involves engaging various stakeholders to
develop strategies to address health issues. Her research interests include infectious diseases and not only
generating evidence but also working towards solutions and also in strengthening the intersection between
bench and translational research
