Neglected tropical diseases, especially those that occur in tropical countries, are still on the rise. These diseases thrive mainly in regions where poverty, poor sanitation, and limited healthcare access has limited control effort. Tropical and Sub-tropical countries are still been bedevilled with these diseases.
Ifeanyi is dedicated to research on vectors, particularly vectors associated with neglected tropical diseases (NTDs) and is a member of Entomological Society of Nigeria (ESN).
He has a degree in Parasitology and Entomology and Pest and Vector Management from Nnamdi Azikiwe University and is currently pursuing a Doctor of philosophy degree in Public Health Parasitology and Entomology at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University, Uli.
Ifeanyi’s public health interests and research area are specifically Entomology, Entomological Assessment of Onchocerciasis transmitting blackflies and the role of Community Development Treatment with Ivermectin. He is currently living and working in Nigeria as a Lecturer I in Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka. He recently concluded a field research on Blackfly Prospection with Federal Ministry of Health in Collaboration with Jimmy Carter Centre where he was looking for immature stages of blackflies in fast flowing rivers in Anambra State in other to suggest early intervention.
His many travels doing research within and outside Anambra State and making new findings have also ignited his passion for more research and intervention driven suggestions. When not seen at work, he is probably playing football or watching football.
