Global Assessor
Join a new group of experts who will help shape the careers of researchers and professionals in tropical medicine and global health.
This group of Global Assessors will be responsible for assessing applications to our small grants programme and abstract entries for our national and international meetings and events.
Experience needed
We are looking for experts with experience across all thematic areas, especially our thematic priority areas in our new strategy, which include infectious and emerging diseases, neglected tropical diseases, non-communicable diseases, drug resistance, and planetary health.
We’re also looking for people from a range of backgrounds including medicine, academic research, public health, law, statistics and modelling, health economics, social sciences and the humanities. Experience of case study design, epidemiology, clinical and community based research, laboratory science, implementation and translation, and policy development are all welcomed.
The role
We welcome applications from people from any country and from a range of career stages.
Involvement in this group will be on a voluntary basis, and we are looking for a pool of around 50 assessors.
How to apply
We hope this opportunity will provide experience in how a peer review process works, and an insight into current research priorities at this seed funding and early stage.
Supporting the RSTMH, and the tropical medicine and global health communities and beneficiaries, in this way, is very appreciated and we hope you will value being a part of shaping this future.
To apply, please complete and submit the online form.
This is an ongoing programme, so please apply at any time. The role of Global Assessor is for a period of two years, with a review after one year.
RSTMH would provide references for Global Assessors and we’re finalising other ways in which we could recognise the hard work of this group through our membership, events and other activities.
