This month’s Editor’s Choice article is a Commentary by Obasanjo Bolarinwa and colleagues, which by focusing on the 2022-2023 Mpox outbreak, and the COVID-19 pandemic before that, draws attention to critical weaknesses in global health equity and structural inequalities in global health governance. Other highlights include a Review article on the elimination of visceral leishmaniasis in India; a multicentre cross-sectional on labour pain management among obstetric care providers in public health facilities in Harari Region, Ethiopia; and a landscape analysis on the administration of dispersible arpraziquantel to young children with Schistosomiasis.
