To mark this year’s International Snakebite Awareness Day, RSTMH is running an online event with key speakers from our Transactions Special Collection in snakebite.

We share the world with about 4,000 different snake species, of which over 700 are venomous. Across the world, 6.85 billion people live within the range of areas inhabited by snakes, and for 146.7 million of them, access to quality healthcare is challenging.

This webinar will be a chance to hear from experts in snakebite science, including research on snakebite mortality rates, the overlap between snake ecology and human activities and venom composition.

Dr. Maya Gopalakrishnan, All India Institute of Medical Sciences, and Dr. Frank Tianyi, Liverpool School of Tropical Medicine will be chairing the webinar, with a Q&A session at the end.

This FREE event is open to anyone interested in finding out more about the latest in snakebite research. Make sure to register to secure your place.
